Professor Dr. Mohammad Hanif Murad has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the newly established Lakshmipur Science and Technology University (LSTU).

The Ministry of Education announced the four-year appointment through a notification issued on June 7, signed by Assistant Secretary Md. Shah Alam Siraj. Prior to this role, Dr. Murad served as the Treasurer of Noakhali Science and Technology University.

As Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Murad will act as the university's chief executive officer. Under the terms of his appointment, he is required to reside on campus and will oversee all academic, administrative, and research and development activities.

This inaugural appointment marks a major milestone toward launching the university's full operations. Local residents, students, and education advocates are optimistic that Dr. Murad's leadership will rapidly advance the region's higher education infrastructure.

With the core administration now taking shape, the community anticipates that LSTU will officially open its doors to incoming HSC graduates for the 2026 academic session.
