Jointly organized by the Institute of Public Health Nutrition and the Pabna Civil Surgeon’s Office the day's programs began with a vibrant rally. Participants marched through the roads surrounding the Civil Surgeon’s Office to draw public attention to the cause.
Following the rally a discussion was held at the Civil Surgeon’s conference room. The session was chaired by Pabna Civil Surgeon Dr. Abul Kalam Azad and moderated by Senior Health Education Officer Qudratullah.
Health and family planning officials including Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Khairul Kabir and Family Planning Deputy Director ABM Shariful Haque, addressed the gathering.
Speakers underscored the critical life-saving benefits of breastfeeding. They advised mothers to initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of birth maintain exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and continue it alongside complementary, nutritious foods for up to two years or more.
