


A head-on collision between a Golden Line passenger bus and a three-wheeler (Mahindra) on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway claimed the life of the three-wheeler driver and injured five others on Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 1:30 PM at the Kalukhali Paikara intersection. According to local witnesses the Golden Line bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it crushed the oncoming three-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as Md. Bablu Sheikh, a resident of Kardi village in Kalukhali upazila.
Fire service personnel promptly arrived at the scene rescuing the trapped passengers and transporting them to the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex. Dr. Shariful Islam the attending physician confirmed that Sheikh was brought in dead.
Among the five injured are four members of the same family. Three victims in critical condition have been transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Sub-Inspector Nilotpal of the Pangsha Highway Police confirmed that officers secured the area and initiated vehicle recovery operations immediately after the incident. Legal proceedings regarding the fatal crash are currently underway.
