


Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) hosted a series of day-long events on Monday to commemorate the historic 'July Uprising.'
Inaugurated jointly by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam and Pro-VC Prof. Md. Anisur Rahman the commemoration began at 7:00 am with the 'July Marathon' starting from the university's main gate.
Throughout the day students engaged in activities designed to reflect on the nation’s democratic journey. At the ICT department participants in an essay competition wrote about civil rights democracy and the youth's role in building a new Bangladesh. Concurrently the BGE department hosted a quiz focusing on the Liberation War, the Constitution and the uprising.
The university’s Cyber Center served as a hub for creative and intellectual expression. It featured a children's drawing competition centered on patriotism and a poignant photo exhibition documenting the uprising. Later a debate competition allowed students to analyze democratic values and civic responsibilities through logic and factual analysis.
Speaking as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony, VC Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam emphasized the historical significance of the movement. "The July Mass Uprising is a crucial chapter in our struggle to establish democratic aspirations justice and a society free from discrimination" he said urging the younger generation to embrace this history to serve the nation.
The event was attended by faculty and officials including July Celebration Committee Convener Prof. Dr. Md. Mostafa Kamal Nasir Student Welfare Director Prof. Dr. Md. Fazlul Karim and Proctor Prof. Dr. Monir Morshed.
