


The Louhajang Upazila Administration organized an anti-drug campaign and the "Award of Excellence-2026" distribution ceremony at Kazirpagla Abhay Talukder Institution on Monday afternoon.
Operating under the theme "Let's Go to War Against Drugs" the event aimed to raise youth awareness about the severe consequences of substance abuse. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Bobby Mitu attended as the chief guest while the school's headmaster Ramakrishna Mitra chaired the session.
During the discussion special guests—including Upazila Engineer Santanu Ghosh Sagar, Agriculture Officer Hasan-ud-Daula and Padma Bridge North Police Station OC Syed Akhter Hossain—spoke extensively on the destructive societal impacts of drugs. Eighth-grade students Yasmin Akhter and Sadia Akhter Maisha also shared their perspectives with the audience.
Following the anti-drug dialogue UNO Farzana Bobby Mitu presented the "Award of Excellence-2026" to Headmaster Ramakrishna Mitra. Kazirpagla Abhay Talukder Institution was selected as the upazila’s top educational institution for the January–June period based on its education quality academic results, discipline and co-curricular activities.
"This recognition will encourage teachers and students to strive for even greater educational excellence" UNO Mitu said noting that the initiative aims to drive positive competition and accountability among local schools.
To conclude the program the upazila administration gifted sports equipment to the students to encourage healthy extracurricular engagement. The event was attended by local journalists including Bikrampur Press Club President Md. Masud Khan and Louhajang Upazila Press Club President Abu Naser Khan Limon alongside administration officials law enforcement members and teachers.
