Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on citizens to actively cooperate in keeping Bangladesh clean and livable emphasizing that public awareness is essential for a garbage-free nation.

In a video message posted on his verified Facebook page at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 3 the Prime Minister addressed the growing issue of environmental pollution. He noted that plastic waste such as bottles and food wrappers is increasingly littering roads, markets, and public spaces across both urban and rural areas—a stark contrast to the cleaner environment of decades past.

"No one likes garbage scattered around their house. Why should our country be unclean?" he asked urging citizens to treat the environment like their own homes.

He highlighted that improperly discarded waste obstructs walkways, emits foul odors and degrades public health. Spaces like parks and ponds, once popular for leisure are increasingly losing their appeal due to rampant littering. The Prime Minister urged the public to discard plastics tissues and other waste only in designated bins.

He stressed that simple responsible habits in waste management can bring massive change. By ensuring parks and recreational centers are left clean citizens guarantee a pleasant experience for the next visitors.

"This country belongs to all of us. If we work together, big changes are possible," he stated.

Concluding his message the Prime Minister reiterated that maintaining a beautiful environment is a shared civic duty vital not only for the current population but for ensuring a healthy livable Bangladesh for future generations.
