A mobile court fined two private healthcare facilities in Lakshmipur city a total of Tk 1,20,000 on Monday for operating without valid licenses and maintaining unsanitary conditions.

Led by Executive Magistrate Sohana Khandaker the district administration raided Millennium Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd. and Trust Diagnostic Center. The inspection revealed that both institutions were providing medical services in unhygienic environments without proper authorization putting patients' health at risk.

The mobile court fined the facilities Tk 1,00,000 under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2021 and an additional Tk 20,000 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 2023.

Dr. Nahid Raihan from the Lakshmipur Civil Surgeon's Office along with representatives from the Department of Environment the local Drug Superintendent, Bangladesh Police and Ansar battalion members, assisted in the operation.

The district administration confirmed that routine mobile courts and supervisory drives will continue to ensure public safety and accountability in local healthcare institutions.
