


A mild earthquake shook parts of Bangladesh including Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh on Thursday night causing temporary panic among residents.
The tremor was felt at 9:40 PM. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) the earthquake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located in Silchar, India a region bordering Karimganj under the Sylhet division.
This is the second time a tremor has been felt across the country this week. Earlier on Sunday (June 7) at 11:37 PM a stronger, moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook Bangladesh. The epicenter of Sunday's quake was located in neighboring Bhutan.
No immediate casualties or structural damages have been reported from tonight's tremor.
