Vinícius Jr in Real Madrid Training amid Arsenal Transfer Rumor

Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior returned to Real Madrid training on Monday even as questions swirl around his future at the club and reported interest from Arsenal.

Vinícius had been on holiday following Brazil's World Cup campaign. He is now back in Madrid where he completed medical checks at Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital before joining his teammates for training under new head coach Jose Mourinho, now in his second spell at the club. Fellow Brazil international Brahim Díaz also returned and underwent the same medical checks.

Real Madrid confirmed the players' return in a statement posted on the club's website Monday.

The move comes after reports that Madrid are willing to let Vinícius leave this summer if he does not sign a new contract. Only one year remains on his current deal. Arsenal are reportedly confident they could secure the winger if he departs but manager Mikel Arteta declined to comment on the speculation when asked by reporters on Saturday.

No date has yet been fixed for talks between Madrid's management and Vinícius's representatives over a possible contract extension.

On the pitch, Real Madrid opened their pre-season with a 2-2 draw against Fiorentina on Saturday with young forward Endrick also of Brazil scoring the opener. The team's next test comes against Ferencvaros in Budapest as Mourinho begins shaping his squad ahead of the new LaLiga season.

Vinícius's contract situation is expected to remain one of the summer's biggest transfer storylines.
