


State Minister for Railways Habibur Rashid visited Chattogram Railway Station on Friday morning to review passenger services and overall operations.
He arrived at the station around 11:00am and was accompanied by Bangladesh Railway (Eastern Zone) General Manager Md. Subaktagin and other senior officials.
During the visit, the minister inspected ticket counters, platforms, passenger facilities and security arrangements. He also held discussions with officials and issued directives to improve service quality.
Speaking to reporters, the minister said the government is working to make rail travel safer, easier and more comfortable. He highlighted ongoing initiatives to modernize the railway sector.
He said further steps would be taken to improve infrastructure, introduce modern technology and enhance passenger services. He stressed the need to improve ticketing, ensure cleanliness, maintain punctuality and strengthen security.
The minister urged railway staff to be more responsible and ensure prompt and courteous service to passengers.
He noted that recent development initiatives have already brought positive changes to railway services and improved the overall travel experience.
During the visit, he also spoke with passengers at the station. Many expressed satisfaction with ongoing improvements and expectation for more reliable and timely services.
After the inspection, the minister expressed satisfaction with the current condition of the station and said efforts would continue to make it more modern and passenger-friendly.
