Cyclone Warnings Issued for Bangladesh Districts and River Ports

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings as a cyclonic storm is expected to affect several districts and river ports in Bangladesh.

According to the IMD’s warning released at noon on Friday, heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is likely over Dhaka, Jessore, Khulna, Faridpur, Madaripur, Barisal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Rangamati, and Chattogram. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display Number Two naval warning signals.

Strong winds at 45 to 60 km per hour from the west or northwest are also expected over Mymensingh, Tangail, and Sylhet, accompanied by rain and thunderstorms. River ports in these regions have been advised to show Number One warning signals.

Residents and authorities have been urged to take necessary precautions and monitor further updates from the IMD.
