As a result of digital transformation and technology-based management, Chattogram Port is moving towards new successes every day. As the country's largest seaport, the port's contribution to national trade flow, import-export activities and economic development has been irreplaceable for a long time and is now being reflected more strongly. Digital operations are now playing an important role in the port's activities by increasing speed and transparency in operation management, document processing and container handling.
After setting a record of issuing 100% online gate passes using the TOS (Terminal Operating System) app, Chittagong Port has broken the previous record by maintaining consistency. A total of 6,717 gate passes were issued at Chattogram Port on November 28. Of which - 4,803 consignee gate passes, 1,914 off-dock gate passes. This surpasses the previous success and is added to the record list as a new milestone. Chattogram Port Authority has made its operations more modern, controlled and faster by using Terminal Operating System (TOS) and other digital platforms. On the one hand, drivers are able to collect gate passes in less time than before and can easily enter the port. Similarly, container handling and trade movement have increased significantly. Businessmen of all levels are enjoying the benefits. Chattogram Port Secretary Md. Omar Faruk said that this continuous success proves that the implementation of smart ports has now become a reality. If the maximum use of technology is maintained, greater achievements will be made in the future and Bangladesh will reach a more competitive position in international trade.
