Government employees protest in Kurigram demanding implementation of discrimination-free ninth pay scale

The Bangladesh Government Employees Demands Achieving Unity Council Kurigram District Branch has protested in Kurigram demanding implementation of discrimination-free ninth pay scale and submitted a memorandum to the Honorable Chief Advisor through the Deputy Commissioner.

On Sunday (November 30) afternoon, a protest procession led by the organization's coordinator Md. Al Mamunur Rashid and District Chief Coordinator Md. Anisur Rahman set out from the temporary office of the organization adjacent to the Kurigram District Model Mosque and circled the road before ending in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

After that, the leaders of the Bangladesh Government Employees Demands Achieving Unity Council Kurigram District Branch handed over a memorandum to Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Annapurna Debnath.

The program was attended by employees of the Kurigram District Commissioner's Office, employees of the Public Works Department, employees of the Water Development Board, employees of the Food Department and employees of the District Election Office, as well as all employees of grades 11-20 of all government offices in Kurigram district.

In addition, the leaders demanded that the 9th pay scale be fixed at a minimum of 35 thousand taka based on 1:4, 12 grades, and that the pay commission report be submitted to the Chief Advisor by November 30, 2025, and that the 9th pay scale be gazetted by December 15, 2025.
