


Three people were killed and 10 injured in a clash over land in Dhani Gagla area of Santoshpur union in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district.
The clash broke out between Altaf Hossain Gang and Ershad Ali Gang over a 16th century land at around 11:30 am on Sunday (November 30).
According to police and local sources, at one stage of the argument, people from both sides attacked each other indiscriminately with country-made weapons. Ershad Ali (42), son of Manik Munshi, Kulchum Begum (55), sister of Manik, and Kawsar Mia, son of Bachcha Mia, were killed in the incident. Two died on the spot and the other died on the way to the hospital.
The 10 people injured in the incident have been admitted to Nageshwari Upazila Health Complex and various nearby hospitals. Among the injured, Nur Mohammad and his elder brother are in critical condition.
Nageshwari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Karim confirmed the incident and said that the clash took place due to a long-standing dispute over land. Police quickly reached the spot to control the situation. Additional police have been deployed in the area.
