The country's first e-family court has been launched in the Chattogram court from Sunday (November 30) morning. It has been established with the aim of modernizing and simplifying the judicial system. This will reduce the suffering of litigants and enable speedy disposal of cases.

According to court sources, the e-family court will conduct trials in five matters - divorce, restoration of marital rights, dowry, maintenance, guardianship and custody of children.

At the inauguration ceremony, Liaquat Ali Mollah, Secretary of the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, said that the e-family court is a big step to reduce the suffering of litigants in the country. Through digital technology, case applications, daily activities - all will be completed online. There will be no more use of papers.

He also said that the fear of losing case documents will be reduced, and the trial process will be completed quickly and transparently. Trial seekers will be able to know the progress and results of the case from home. In addition, all information related to the case will be communicated through text messages.

At a program organized at the Chattogram District Bar Association auditorium, Government Counsel of the Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Raihanul Wazed Chowdhury, said that in the old system, documents were often lost. In the e-family court, all documents will be stored online. This will reduce the suffering of lawyers and trial seekers.

Chattogram District Bar Association President Advocate Abdus Sattar said that this is a paperless court. With the right technology and software, the trial process will be faster, transparent and hassle-free. Long-standing family disputes will be resolved quickly. Case registration, lawyer selection, document upload and online attendance facilities will be available on the court website. In this, trial seekers will be able to file and manage cases from anywhere, and their identity can be confirmed through OTP verification.
