Nine Bangladeshi cricketers have been excluded from the final Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction list following anti-corruption investigations into suspected fixing activities during the previous season's tournament.
The exclusions came after an extensive probe by an independent BCB investigation committee, which identified nine local and one foreign player as suspects in alleged irregularities. The findings were reviewed by the BCB's anti-corruption consultant, Alex Marshall, based on which the BPL governing council removed the nine local players from the auction pool.
Involvement in suspected fixing activities and having "red-flagged" status by the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit.
The group includes players with previous national team experience and domestic regulars. Not all were accused of direct fixing, but their activities and access patterns raised concerns.
The players are barred from this year's BPL and are not allowed in team areas, dressing rooms, or other restricted spaces during the tournament. They may still participate in other domestic competitions.
