


Train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route were temporarily suspended on Friday morning after three carriages of a commuter train derailed near Gafargaon in the Mymensingh district.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. as the Jamalpur commuter train was approaching Gafargaon Railway Station. According to Abdullah Al Harun, Station Superintendent at Mymensingh Railway Station a loud noise preceded the derailment of the three carriages immediately behind the locomotive.
Fortunately there are no immediate reports of casualties or major structural damage.
Railway authorities have dispatched senior officials and a relief train to the site to manage the situation. A specialized rescue team is actively working to safely remove the derailed carriages determine the exact cause of the accident and restore normal rail operations as swiftly as possible. Passengers traveling on this route should anticipate delays and are advised to check with local stations for schedule updates.
