3 Children Die of Measles Symptoms, 1,218 New Cases Reported

Three more children have died from measles symptoms across the country in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 AM on Friday (from Thursday morning), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same 24-hour period, 1,218 new children were infected with measles and its symptoms.

The regular health bulletin, published by the health agency on Friday afternoon (August 7), provides the latest statistics on the ongoing outbreak:

Since March 15, the total death toll from measles and its symptoms has reached 860. Among them, 764 died from measles-like symptoms, while 96 deaths were confirmed to be from measles.

Over the same period, a total of 1,33,638 people have exhibited measles symptoms, and 16,740 cases have been officially confirmed as measles.

A total of 1,15,879 patients have been hospitalized with measles and its symptoms nationwide. Of these patients, 1,11,857 have successfully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
