A 3-year-old girl was tragically killed by her father in the Ghatail upazila of Tangail. This horrific event occurred on November 2 at 10 am on a Sunday in the village of Kaitkai, located in Sadar Union. The police apprehended the father on Monday morning and took him to the police station. According to the family, Muktar Ali has been struggling with mental health issues for an extended period.
Rumi Akhter, the grandmother and mother of the deceased child, recounted that the girl had fallen asleep after finishing her dinner. Muktar, a 36-year-old expatriate with mental health challenges, repeatedly stabbed Toya with a knife. Upon witnessing her daughter in a pool of blood, Rumi rushed to the neighboring house, crying out for help. Muktar fled the scene.
Rumi Akhter, the mother of the late Toya, has initiated a murder case in Ghatail, acting as the plaintiff.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Mosharraf Hossain of Ghatail Police Station confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and is now in custody.
