The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has bolstered its national team support staff for the upcoming home series against Ireland by appointing former captain Mohammad Ashraful as the specialist batting coach. The announcement followed Monday's board of directors meeting.
Key Appointments and Roles: Mohammad Ashraful will serve as the specialist batting coach specifically for the Ireland series. Former national selector Abdur Razzak confirmed that Ashraful's experience and completion of coaching courses were key factors in the decision. Razzak clarified that this appointment does not replace senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin. A decision on Ashraful's continuation in the role beyond the Ireland series will be made later by the board.
Abdur Razzak was also named the Team Director for the series. He explained his role: "I will observe, keep an eye on things, and if anyone needs any help, I'll provide it." Razzak noted the BCB felt a team director would assist the side, emphasizing that the position is not new but has recently been vacant. Women Cricketers’ Benefits Increased
In addition to the coaching appointments, the BCB announced increased benefits for female cricketers: The daily allowance for female cricketers has been raised from $50 USD to $75 USD. Monthly salaries for female cricketers have been increased by 35 percent.
