BNP Central Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir disclosed the names of the party candidates for the forthcoming national elections under the Dhaner Sheesh symbol in 232 BNP constituencies nationwide on Monday evening.

Among these candidates, two women have been nominated for the party symbol in the four parliamentary constituencies of Faridpur. They include Shama Obaid Islam, the daughter of the late freedom fighter and former BNP Secretary General KM Obaidur Rahman, representing the Faridpur-2 parliamentary constituency. She currently holds the position of Faridpur Divisional BNP Organizing Secretary.

Additionally, Nayab Yusuf, the daughter of former MP, former minister, and former BNP vice chairman Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yusuf, has been awarded the rice sheaf party symbol for the Faridpur Sadar constituency. She remarked that for 16-17 years, her party and the people of this country have endured significant hardships and made numerous sacrifices, and she considers herself a part of that sacrifice. She stated that if elected by Allah, she will dedicate herself to completing the unfinished work of her father, the late Obaidur Rahman, who was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.
