


The nationalist party BNP has revealed its nominations for the four parliamentary constituencies in Faridpur for the upcoming national elections. Among these, the nomination for the Faridpur-1 parliamentary constituency has been postponed, with the party indicating that it will be announced at a later date.
BNP Central Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir disclosed the names of the party candidates for the forthcoming national elections under the Dhaner Sheesh symbol in 232 BNP constituencies nationwide on Monday evening.
Among these candidates, two women have been nominated for the party symbol in the four parliamentary constituencies of Faridpur. They include Shama Obaid Islam, the daughter of the late freedom fighter and former BNP Secretary General KM Obaidur Rahman, representing the Faridpur-2 parliamentary constituency. She currently holds the position of Faridpur Divisional BNP Organizing Secretary.
Additionally, Nayab Yusuf, the daughter of former MP, former minister, and former BNP vice chairman Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yusuf, has been awarded the rice sheaf party symbol for the Faridpur Sadar constituency. She serves as the joint general secretary of the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal.
Furthermore, Shahidul Islam Babul has been nominated by the BNP for the Faridpur-4 parliamentary constituency. He is the general secretary of the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal.
In response to receiving the party nomination for the Faridpur-2 constituency, Shyama Obaid Islam expressed, "First of all, I express my gratitude to the great creator, then I express my gratitude to the acting chairman of the party and the policy makers of the standing committee."
She remarked that for 16-17 years, her party and the people of this country have endured significant hardships and made numerous sacrifices, and she considers herself a part of that sacrifice. She stated that if elected by Allah, she will dedicate herself to completing the unfinished work of her father, the late Obaidur Rahman, who was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.
