


In preparation for the forthcoming 13th National Parliament election, the BNP has revealed the names of prospective candidates for 10 out of 16 seats in Chittagong.
The list was disclosed by the leaders of the National Standing Committee during a press conference at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, the capital, on Monday (November 3).
However, the party has yet to announce candidates for the Chittagong-3 (Sandwip), Chittagong-6 (Raujan), Chittagong-9 (Kotwali-Bakaliya), Chittagong-11 (Bandar-Patenga), Chittagong-13 (Chandanaish-Satkania partially), and Chittagong-15 (Lohagara-Satkania partially) seats.
The potential candidates announced include: Nurul Amin for the Chittagong-1 (Mirsarai) constituency, Sarwar Alamgir for the Chittagong-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency, Kazi Salahuddin for the Chittagong-4 (Sitakunda) constituency, Mir Md. Helal Uddin for the Chittagong-5 (Hathazari) constituency, Hummam Quader Chowdhury for the Chittagong-7 (Rangunia) constituency, Ershad Ullah for the Chittagong-8 (Boalkhali-Chandgaon) constituency, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury for the Chittagong-10 (Halisahar-Pahartoli) constituency, Enamul Haque Enam for the Chittagong-12 (Patia) constituency, Sarwar Jamal Nizam for the Chittagong-13 (Anwara-Karnaphuli) constituency, and Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury for the Chittagong-16 (Baanshkhali) constituency.
The BNP has stated that the final decision will be made after consulting local leaders and conducting a central level review of the candidates for the vacant seats. The names of candidates for these seats will also be announced shortly.
According to party sources, the BNP aims to nominate strong candidates in this economically and politically significant district, placing great emphasis on the candidates' popularity, organizational standing, and grassroots activities.
