The Islamic Foundation in Gopalganj hosted the District Imams' Conference 2026 on Thursday, June 4, bringing together imams who recently completed the foundation's 2025–26 fiscal year training programs.
The event took place at the Gopalganj District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center.
Abu Obaida Mohammad Mas-Udul Haque, Acting Deputy Director of the local Islamic Foundation, chaired the conference. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Arif-Uz-Zaman attended as the chief guest, alongside special guests including Superintendent of Police Md. Habibullah and District Imam Association President Maulana Mufti Abdullah Al Mamun.
Discussions throughout the day focused on improving professional skills, promoting religious values, building social harmony, and raising awareness against drug abuse, terrorism, and extremism.
In his address, Mas-Udul Haque highlighted the vital role imams play in fostering morality, humanity, and peace. He noted that proper religious guidance helps protect communities from superstition and crime, adding that practical, modern training boosts their ability to support grassroots development.
Islamic Foundation officials distributed certificates to the trained imams and encouraged them to actively promote religious harmony, engage in local social work, and help share government welfare messages with the public.
The conference concluded with a special prayer seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
