Around 7,000 tonnes (approximately 8.23 million liters) of diesel imported from India has arrived at the Parbatipur Depot in Dinajpur through the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline.

The unloading process, which began on Monday evening, was successfully completed by 9:30 AM on Friday (August 14).

Under this 68th batch of import, a total of 7,000 tonnes calculated at 1,176.47 liters per tonne was received, amounting to 8,235,290 liters of diesel.

The fuel imported from India across each shipment is distributed almost equally among the three marketing companies of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC): Padma Oil, Meghna Petroleum, and Jamuna Oil Company.

The Bangladesh stretch of the friendship pipeline spans 126.57 kilometers, extending from Tetulia, Sadar, and Boda upazilas in Panchagarh through Nilphamari Sadar and Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur to the receiving terminal in Parbatipur. Installed roughly 5 to 8 feet underground, the pipeline enables direct fuel transport from India.

The India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline plays a vital role in easing and accelerating fuel supply across the northern region while reducing reliance on road and rail transportation for fuel delivery.
