


Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have agreed to immediately execute collective defense commitments and rapidly deploy military capabilities to Saudi Arabia following an emergency security meeting in Riyadh.
The decision by the Mecca Defense Alliance’s Strategic Political and Defense Committee comes amid escalating regional threats and ongoing attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels targeting Saudi economic assets and civilian infrastructure.
In a joint statement, the member states strongly condemned reported targeting attempts near the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. They reaffirmed that an attack on one member state is treated as an attack on all also emphasizing that the security of each nation remains interconnected.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif clarified that while Saudi forces handle direct combat operations, Turkish and Pakistani forces are providing crucial support and reconnaissance roles.
To formalize the operational framework of the pact signed on August 7, the alliance appointed retired Pakistani Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood as its first Secretary-General for a three-year term.
