Gold Prices Drop in Local Market After Three Consecutive Hikes

Following three consecutive price hikes, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices in the domestic market on Friday (August 14).

According to a press release issued by BAJUS on Friday morning, the price of the highest quality 22-carat gold has been lowered by BDT 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new rate to BDT 2,34,621 per bhori. The new prices came into effect at 10:00 AM.

Under the revised price structure, 21-carat gold is priced at BDT 2,24,065 per bhori, 18-carat gold at BDT 1,92,398 per bhori, and traditional method gold at BDT 1,57,172 per bhori.

While gold prices have been adjusted downward, silver prices remain unchanged.

Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at BDT 5,074 per bhori, 21-carat silver at BDT 4,841 per bhori, 18-carat silver at BDT 4,199 per bhori, and traditional method silver at BDT 3,149 per bhori.
