


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman formally declared Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) candidate for the presidential position today during a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee.
When the Prime Minister proposed Mirza Fakhrul's name for the nomination, the members of the Standing Committee unanimously approved the proposal. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting held in the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Prime Minister's Office inside the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, alongside Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Selima Rahman, and AZM Zahid Hossain, among others.
