The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices again, increasing the price by Tk 1,633 per bhori.
Under the new rates, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold is Tk 236,779, including value-added tax (VAT).
BAJUS announced the new prices in a notice on Thursday (August 13). The rates took effect at 10 a.m. the same day.
According to BAJUS, the increase follows a rise in the price of pure gold, known locally as tezabi gold, in the domestic market. The association said it revised gold prices after considering overall market conditions.
