


Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has resigned from his position as Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
He handed over his resignation letter to Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today during a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee held at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The resignation followed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's formal announcement at the meeting nominating Mirza Fakhrul as the party’s candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
The Standing Committee meeting was attended by senior party leaders, including Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Selima Rahman, and AZM Zahid Hossain, alongside Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
