


Five more people have died with measles symptoms over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 890, according to the daily report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
The DGHS reported that in addition to the 5 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 1,025 new patients were identified during the same period.
According to health authority data, a total of 890 people have died from measles and related symptoms nationwide since March 15. Among the deceased, 791 died showing symptoms of measles, while 99 deaths were confirmed cases of the infection.
The DGHS further detailed that from March 15 to date, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 140,076, with 17,543 confirmed cases. A total of 121,908 patients have been admitted to hospitals so far, of whom 117,690 have recovered and been discharged.
