


Hafiz Maulana Ahmed Shafi has been selected as the best Imam at the Sylhet Divisional Imam Conference, organized by the Islamic Foundation for trained imams. This marks his second time winning the award at the divisional level.
On Saturday (23 May 2026), the Prime Minister's Advisor, Humayun Kabir, attended the conference in Sylhet as the chief guest and presented Ahmed Shafi with the best Imam commemorative crest. Senior officials of the Islamic Foundation, journalists, and invited guests attended the event.
Hafiz Maulana Ahmed Shafi has been serving as the director of the Ikrachai Shafiqul Ahmed Bhuiyan Hafiziya Madrasa and Orphanage in the Jagannathpur upazila municipality for about 10 years. He also serves as the Pesh Imam and Khatib of the attached mosque.
Originally from Asamura village in Shantiganj upazila's Patharia union, Ahmed Shafi previously won the best divisional imam title for the first time in 2023. Local socio-religious organizations, well-wishers, and residents have warmly congratulated him on repeating this achievement in 2026.
