


Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Member of Parliament for Faridpur-3 (Sadar), held a meeting with officials of West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (wzpdcl) on Saturday to discuss the overall power situation, load shedding management and service quality improvement in Faridpur.
The meeting took place at the conference room of Goalchamot Bidyut Bhaban under the Operation and Conservation Circle in Faridpur.
Officials discussed the current electricity supply situation in Faridpur Sadar, load management and issues related to power generation and distribution. The meeting was chaired by Engineer Amjad Hossain, Superintendent Engineer of the Operation and Conservation Circle, Faridpur.
In his presentation, Amjad Hossain highlighted wzpdcl’s activities in the region, including efforts to reduce system loss and improve load shedding management.
He said there is currently no load shedding in the district and stressed the importance of keeping key installations outside the scope of load shedding during emergencies.
Speaking at the meeting, MP Nayab Yusuf thanked power department officials and employees for maintaining uninterrupted electricity supply. He also praised the Faridpur Circle for achieving its system loss reduction target in the previous fiscal year.
“We must remain proactive during emergencies and ensure proper load management for public welfare in line with government directives,” he said.
The MP also called for initiatives to expand solar power generation and encourage the use of solar energy at the individual level to strengthen energy security. He emphasized improving logistical support and addressing manpower shortages to enhance emergency response services.
The meeting was also addressed by Executive Engineer of Sales and Distribution Division-1 Engineer Pranab Chandra Debnath and Executive Engineer of Sales and Distribution Division-2 Engineer Md. Mustafizur Rahman.
Sub-Divisional Engineer Fuad Hasan, Himadri Kumar Poddar, grid officials, employees of the Faridpur office and local BNP leaders and activists were present.
