BNP MP (Faridpur-3) Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf stated on Wednesday that the government aims to restore the country's riverine landscape by excavating rivers and canals. Speaking at an exchange of views in Ward 10 of Faridpur Municipality, Yusuf announced plans to excavate the source of the Kumar River to ensure year-round water flow for local residents.
Addressing the crowd, the MP also highlighted the launch of a pilot project for "family cards." He noted that if the pilot is successful, the program will be scaled up to provide broader social benefits and improve the quality of life for citizens.
Turning to social issues, Yusuf urged the public to remain vigilant against anti-social activities and drug abuse. He encouraged residents to utilize the 999 emergency helpline to organize community resistance against such crimes when necessary.
The event, chaired by Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener and Councilor Khandaker Shamsul Arefin Sagar, saw a significant turnout of local men and women.
