


Nine more people have died across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours from measles and measles-related symptoms. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed that three of the deaths were caused by measles, while the remaining six patients died with measles symptoms.
The information was released on Saturday (May 9) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS.
According to DGHS data, 61 people have died from measles since March 15. During the same period, 291 suspected measles-related deaths have been reported.
Since March 15, a total of 6,979 measles cases have been confirmed nationwide. The number of suspected cases has reached 47,656.
So far, 33,631 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals, while 29,746 people have recovered and been discharged.
