National Legal Aid Day Observed in Paikgachha

A discussion meeting was held in Paikgachha on Wednesday, April 29, to observe National Legal Aid Day. The event, hosted at the Gadaipur Union Parishad auditorium, was organized by the NGO Mukti Foundation in collaboration with the Manusher Jonna Foundation, Christian Aid, and the European Union.

Presided over by Mukti Foundation Director Govinda Kumar Ghosh, the meeting featured Senior Civil Judge Hazrat Ali, Chairman of the Upazila Legal Aid Committee, as the chief guest. Speakers emphasized the importance of ensuring legal rights for marginalized communities.

Special guests included Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Reshma Akhter and Acting UP Chairman Sheikh Khorsheduzzaman, alongside panel chairmen and project coordinators. The session was attended by Legal Aid Committee members from Haridhali, Kapilmuni, Gadaipur, and Raruli unions, focusing on expanding access to justice at the grassroots level.
