Truck Overturns on Road Island in Pabna Several Injured

A truck carrying passengers crashed onto a road divider island near the Tebunia Railgate in Pabna late Wednesday night. The accident occurred around midnight amid heavy rainfall.

Witnesses reported that the truck was traveling from Tebunia Bazar toward Chatmohar. Due to the driver’s apparent negligence, the vehicle climbed onto the divider just before the railway crossing. The truck was packed with men, women, and children and covered with a tarpaulin to shield them from the rain.

Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing a loud impact. Panic ensued as passengers scrambled to exit the vehicle, resulting in several minor injuries. The driver and his assistant fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Pabna Sadar Police confirmed that a patrol team was dispatched to the site. The injured received first aid locally. Authorities stated that the truck would be removed by morning to prevent traffic congestion on the busy highway. Locals noted that this specific spot is prone to frequent accidents and have called for permanent safety measures.
