A 46-year-old BRAC official was tragically killed in a road accident on the Pabna-Ishwardi Highway on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Anwar Hossain, worked as a programmer at the BRAC office in Dashuria, Ishwardi. Originally from Baghmara upazila in Rajshahi, he resided with his family in a rented house in the Dashuria Bazar area.
According to police, the fatal crash occurred around 7:30 AM in the Munshidpur area. Anwar was riding his motorcycle for routine fieldwork when a bus struck him from behind. He was crushed beneath the wheels and dragged for a considerable distance, dying instantly at the scene.
Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam Azad of the Paksey Highway Police Station confirmed the details of the incident. Upon receiving information the local police and Fire Service personnel swiftly arrived to recover the body.
Authorities have stated that standard legal proceedings regarding the accident are currently underway.
