The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) distributed financial assistance checks to the families of road accident victims in Pabna today.

Pabna-5 MP Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas handed over the checks as the chief guest during a ceremony organized by the district administration at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday (July 2). A total of Tk 9.5 million was distributed among 21 families, supporting the dependents of 18 deceased and three injured individuals.

Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam chaired the event, which was moderated by Additional District Magistrate Liton Dhali. Other key attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Moniruzzaman, BRTA Assistant Director Altaf Hossain, Motor Vehicle Inspector S. M. Faridur Rahim, and representatives from local transport organizations.

During the distribution, speakers urged the public to prioritize road safety awareness and expressed hope that the government will continue to support families devastated by highway tragedies.
