The High Court on Thursday granted bail to former Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in two cases filed with Siddhirganj Police Station.

The bench of Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order.

Meanwhile, the Appellate Division, headed by the Chief Justice, is set to deliver its verdict this Sunday (May 3) regarding Ivy's bail in five other cases.

Ivy was arrested from her "Chunka Kutir" residence in Deobhog on May 9, 2025. Since then, she has been implicated in several cases. Although the High Court previously granted her bail in five instances, those orders were later stayed by the Appellate Division.

On November 18, she was shown arrested in five additional cases. While she secured bail for those on February 26, the state successfully applied for a stay on those orders as well.

The latest bail involves two murder cases filed on September 11, 2024, and June 30, 2025. The Narayanganj Chief Judicial Magistrate had formally recorded her arrest in these cases on March 2 and April 12, respectively.
