


A mobile court raided two private clinics in Pabna town, jailed their owners, fined them, and sealed both facilities over multiple irregularities.
Acting on information from the National Security Intelligence (NSI), the targeted Madhupur Clinic in the Golapbagh area and Saleha Clinic in Shalgaria Godown Para on Wednesday (April 29).
Executive Magistrate Abdul Alim led the operation. Authorities found several violations, including expired licences, substandard medical services, absence of doctors and nurses, and allegations of patient transfer from Sadar Hospital through brokers.
Following the findings, the court ordered both clinics to be sealed.
Madhupur Clinic owner Shafiqul Rahman Shafi was sentenced to one month in jail and fined Tk 25,000. Saleha Clinic owner Rezaul Karim received the same jail term and was fined Tk 50,000.
Dr Monirul Islam from the Civil Surgeon’s Office was present during the drive. The operation was supervised by NSI Deputy Director ABM Lutful Kabir under the direction of Joint Director Toufiq Iqbal.
