Elderly Woman Killed in Chattogram Wall Collapse During Heavy Rain

An elderly woman was killed after a roadside wall collapsed on her during heavy rainfall in Chittagong’s Karnaphuli Upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Delwara Begum (60), was the wife of the late Fazal Ahmed from the Master Hat area.

The incident occurred in the Police Bit area of Shikalbaha Union. According to Nural Alam Ashek, in-charge of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost, the wall suddenly gave way under the pressure of intense rain, crushing Delwara as she was walking by.

Locals rescued the critically injured woman and rushed her to CMCH. However, after being moved to the ward from the emergency department, attending physicians declared her dead following an examination.
