National Legal Aid Day Celebrated in Paikgachha

National Legal Aid Day was observed in Paikgachha, Khulna, on Tuesday, April 28. To mark the occasion, the Upazila Legal Aid Committee organized an awareness rally and a discussion meeting centered on the theme: "Ending disputes at government expense, Bangladesh first."

The day’s activities began at the court premises with the ceremonial release of balloons. This was followed by a colorful rally that paraded through the main roads of the Upazila Sadar to raise public awareness about free legal services.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Bar Association auditorium, chaired by Senior Civil Judge Hazrat Ali, Chairman of the Upazila Legal Aid Committee.

Special Guests Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury, Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Masum Billah, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Fazle Rabbi, and Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Kibria.

Technical Experts Upazila Agriculture Officer Ekramul Hossain, Bar Association President Advocate GM Abdus Sattar, and General Secretary Advocate GM Akkas Ali.

Speakers included Advocates Mozaffar Hasan, Pradhish Halder, Shafiqul Islam Kochi, and others. The meeting, moderated by Serestadar Ikramul Haque, emphasized the government’s commitment to providing justice for the underprivileged.

The event was supported by non-governmental organizations Mukti Foundation and Friends Sangstha.
