Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan has officially inaugurated the Bangladesh Navy Medical College (BNMC) in the Bandartila area, adjacent to BNS Issa Khan in Chattogram.
The newly established institution, managed by the Bangladesh Navy, features modern infrastructure and advanced training facilities designed to bolster the country’s healthcare sector.
The college has already completed its first admission cycle, strictly following the standards set by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The inaugural academic session has commenced with 50 civilian students enrolled in the five-year MBBS program.
Addressing the ceremony as the chief guest, Admiral Nazmul Hasan noted that the college's location in southern Chattogram provides a strategic blend of medical education, research, and training. He emphasized that by producing ethical and professional doctors, the institution will enhance the medical capacity of the armed forces while ensuring high-quality healthcare for the general public.
A key objective of the Navy Medical College is to develop doctors capable of providing effective treatment across all levels of society. The institution also plans to offer specialized training in disaster medicine and infectious disease management—skills particularly vital for coastal, disaster-prone regions.
Equipped with modern laboratories, a comprehensive library, and advanced classrooms, the college is staffed by experienced educators committed to maintaining the high standards of discipline and professionalism synonymous with the Bangladesh Navy.
