Protests in Sariakandi Demand Justice for Shayon Murder

A human chain and protest march were held in Sariakandi, Bogura, on Sunday to demand justice for the murder of Zakaria Islam Shayon.

Local residents and students gathered at Jorgachha Bazar Charmatha at 11:00 AM. Participants demanded the immediate arrest of the prime suspect, Subel, and exemplary punishment for all individuals involved in the killing. Following the human chain, a protest march paraded through the main roads of Jorgachha, where demonstrators chanted slogans calling for swift police action.

The program concluded with a brief rally. Speakers included Bhelabari UP Chairman Shariful Islam Shipon, UP Member Abdul Hamid, and the victim's family members, including his mother Morsheda Bewa, sister Khairunnesa Trisha, and brother Zakaria Islam Nayan.

"We cannot accept the brutal murder of an innocent youth," the speakers stated. They urged the administration to rid the area of drug dealers and terrorists to ensure no other family has to suffer such a loss.
