If justice is established within the Parliament, it will naturally be established across the country, stated Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition.
He made these remarks during a session of the 13th National Parliament on Sunday afternoon. Dr. Rahman emphasized that the Parliament must serve as the center of all national activities, asserting that a commitment to justice within the house is the foundation for a just state.
The adjourned session of the 13th National Parliament resumed at 3:00 PM. In the absence of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal presided over the proceedings.
Following the opening, the House offered prayers seeking eternal peace for the souls of the Speaker’s late wife and the mother of the Member of Parliament from the Jashore-6 constituency.
The first session of the 13th National Parliament had previously been adjourned on March 15 by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
