


The Bangladesh Open University (BOU) has organised an orientation programme for newly admitted students of its 2026 Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) batch across 26 study centres nationwide.
The programme was held simultaneously on Friday (February 27, 2026). At the central event at the auditorium of Government Teachers Training College in Dhaka, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam attended as the chief guest.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor said that B.Ed students would play a vital role in nation-building as skilled, ethical and technology-aware teachers. He urged students to remain sincere in their studies, develop moral values, and strengthen their professional skills. He also reaffirmed BOU’s commitment to quality teacher education and encouraged students to complete the programme with dedication and responsibility.
The programme was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Khademul Islam, Principal of Government Teachers Training College, Dhaka.
Among the special guests were Professor Dr. Md. Mohsin Uddin, Professor of the School of Education and Secretary of the Teachers’ Council; Professor Md. Abdullah Abu Tarek, Regional Director of Dhaka Regional Centre; TM Ahmed Hussain; and Joint Regional Director Md. Nasir Uddin.
On the same day, Dean of the School of Education Professor Amirul Islam joined the orientation at the Cox’s Bazar PTI Study Centre as the chief resource person. Faculty members from the School of Education and other schools of the university also attended orientation programmes at different study centres across the country.
During the sessions, students were briefed on the B.Ed curriculum, assessment methods, online and offline learning activities, and university rules and regulations.
