Md. Ismail Zabiullah, Advisor to the Ministry of Public Administration, has said that Tarique Rahman has begun implementing his plans directly and is closely monitoring every aspect of governance.
Speaking at the Lakshmipur Circuit House on Friday morning, Ismail Zabiullah said the prime minister is working like a corporate chief executive, overseeing details and ensuring timely execution. “This level of hands-on leadership is rare and inspiring. It has drawn appreciation internationally and gives us hope for a bright future for Bangladesh,” he said.
A resident of Kamalnagar Upazila, Ismail Zabiullah said this was his first visit to Lakshmipur since assuming office.
Thanking Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for entrusting him with the ministry, he said public administration in Bangladesh had become politicised over the past decade and a half, leading to a loss of neutrality and efficiency. “Under the prime minister’s policy, we aim to build an efficient, impartial and merit-based administration that serves the people, not rules them,” he said.
He added that the government is committed to building a non-discriminatory, inclusive, accountable and corruption-free Bangladesh. Referring to the election mandate, he said the landslide victory of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) carries a major responsibility. “We must work together with unity and accountability in the days ahead,” he said.
After a guard of honour, the advisor was welcomed with flowers by SM Mehedi Hasan, Md. Abu Tarek, Shahabuddin Sabu, Hasibur Rahman, Hasanuzzaman Chowdhury Mintu, Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Ahmed Ferdous Manik, Rezaul Karim Liton, Syed Rashidul Hasan Lincoln, and Mohsin Kabir Swapan.
On behalf of the Lakshmipur Press Club, General Secretary Sayedul Islam Pabel and other members also greeted him.
Later, the advisor exchanged views with political leaders, officials and local dignitaries at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner SM Mehedi Hasan.
