Thunderstorm Warning for Dhaka & 9 Districts Today

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast thunderstorms and stormy winds for Dhaka and nine other districts on Friday between 5:00 am and 1:00 pm.

According to BMD Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain and thundershowers are expected to impact Dhaka Faridpur Khulna Barishal Patuakhali Noakhali Cumilla Chattogram Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.

The weather advisory states that winds will blow from the south or southeast, reaching dangerous speeds of 45 to 60 km/h. Due to the adverse weather conditions river ports across the affected regions have been instructed to hoist warning signal No. 1 to ensure the safety of vessels and passengers.
