Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Forecast for Dhaka and 9 Other Regions by 1 AM

Temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, blowing from the south or south-east at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h, are likely to pass over Dhaka and nine other regions of Bangladesh by 1:00 AM tonight, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

​The Met Office issued this forecast in a weather bulletin released for internal river ports across the country on Thursday (August 6).

​According to the forecast, temporary gusty or squally winds with rain or thunderstorms from the south or south-east reaching speeds of 45–60 km/h may affect the following regions, ​Pabna, ​Tangail, ​Dhaka, ​Faridpur, ​Barishal, ​Patuakhali, ​Cumilla, ​Noakhali, ​Chattogram and ​Cox's Bazar.

River ports in these designated regions have been advised to hoist Signal No. 1.
