Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced Thursday that the government is fully committed to transforming Bangladesh into a $1 trillion economy by 2034.
Speaking in Dhaka at the “FICCI FDI Conference 2026: Driving Foreign Investment for Jobs and Prosperity in Bangladesh,” Rahman stated that work to achieve this milestone is already underway. While acknowledging existing economic challenges the Prime Minister emphasized the country's capacity to overcome them by securing safe sustainable and long-term foreign investment.
To build a more business-friendly environment the administration is actively reforming administrative bottlenecks. Key government priorities include simplifying tax and VAT procedures, digitizing public services, and ensuring the highest level of security for investors.
"We want to work together," Rahman said reaffirming his administration's dedication to modernizing the investment climate to drive national prosperity.
